Commercial Cork Flooring

Cork flooring is relatively new to the flooring industry. However, it is certainly shaking things up. Cork along with bamboo has spearheaded an eco-revolution in come people look at flooring. Every year the market share for cork flooring is increasing. We indeed live now in a green age, a time where environmentalism is close to a common consideration. The corporation won't change unless consumers dictate they do. And the people have spoken.

Now, those who are somewhat familiar with cork floor coverings tend to see it as a trendy or chic flooring choice. However, the truth of the matter is, cork has been industrial for a while.

The fibers within the bark of a cork oak are so remarkably durable that fires and the most ravenous insects cannot breech it. Cork trees are known to last for several hundred years. Cork is not rigid however. It is flexible but strong. This is the essential balance for the longest lasting materials on the planet. For if something is too rigid it can snap, and if something is too weak it can fall down. But if something possesses a legitimate balance between the two, it stands extraordinarily firm.

This being the case with cork, it is employed in a variety of industrial settings. Cork is used in many shipping rooms and stock rooms, especially when food or drinks are involved. This is because cork floors lessen the chance that insects will contaminate a supply of edible goods. Bugs are just no match for cork. Also, in the even of a fire, there is a better chance a company's inventory will be safe if it sits on a cork floor rather than a vinyl one (which is easily flammable).

Cork is also used in gymnasiums and work-out centers throughout the world. This is because it gives a bit, which makes it easier on those playing basketball on it or playing indoor soccer, for example. Though it may give, cork flooring offers about the same surface reactivity as hardwood does. Plus, it is environmentally sustainable and many schools and universities are looking to set an example for incoming students, parents, and other formative institutions.

Cork is also used in many art studios, home goods and furnishing stores because of it unique and thrilling allure. It visual appeal is vibrant enough to draw the unsure into a store, and once in, the salesman or curator can work their magic. Those going for contemporary or modern looks really have no better option than cork because it can be stained to suit almost any atmosphere or design and it draws a respect that consumers care about, though they may not perceive it outright.

Cork can take the most wear and tear without fracturing or fragmenting than basically any other type of flooring, so its commercial and industrial applications continue to broaden year by year.
